What are the corrosion factors of stainless steel plates?

Stainless steel plate is a product that is not easy to corrode. Unless it is a serious situation, it is not impossible to be corroded in any product. If our stainless steel plate is corroded, it may affect its normal use. So in order to avoid this situation, we need to take some preventive measures. Let's first understand what are the factors of stainless steel plate corrosion?

Stainless steel plate is a product that is not easy to corrode. Unless it is a serious situation, it is not impossible to be corroded in any product. If our stainless steel plate is corroded, it may affect its normal use. So in order to avoid this situation, we need to take some preventive measures. Let's first understand what are the factors of stainless steel plate corrosion?

Electrochemical corrosion

Stainless steel plate is scratched due to contact with carbon steel, and then forms a corrosive medium with the original battery, which will produce electrochemical corrosion. If the pickling passivation effect is not good, the passivation film on the surface of the plate will be uneven or too thin, which is also prone to electrochemical corrosion. Slag cutting, splashing and other rust-prone substances adhere to the plate, and then form a primary battery with the corrosive medium, resulting in electrochemical decay. The pickling passivation cleaning is not clean, resulting in the remaining pickling passivation liquid and the plate to produce chemical corrosion products, and then form electrochemical corrosion with the plate.

Chemical corrosion

Under certain conditions, many stainless steel plates adhere to oil, dust or acid, alkali, salt, etc. on the surface, which will be converted into corrosive media, react chemically with some components of the plate, and chemical corrosion and rust will occur. Inadequate cleaning, pickling and passivation will result in residual liquid retention, which will directly corrode the plate. The plate surface will be scratched, resulting in the destruction of the passivation film, which will reduce the protective ability of the plate and make it easy to react with chemical media, chemical corrosion and rust.
